It’s surprising how many companies miss the opportunity to use Facebook to tout their enewsletter and encourage new subscribers. Here are three suggestions for ways to do so:
1. Post a teaser in advance of an enewsletter. For instance, What’s the single most important factor in growing big, sweet onions? Find out in our January 2011 enewsletter being published tomorrow. Click on the link below to subscribe.
2. Post a snippet of content. Post the beginning of an archived newsletter, forcing readers to click on a link to read the rest of the newsletter. Make it easy to subscribe to the newsletter from the archived page.
3. Add a newsletter signup to your Facebook page. Have a look at High Country Gardens’ Facebook Welcome page for an especially good example of how to do this.
Many companies assume that their Facebook fans are also newsletter subscribers. Not necessarily! And even if they are, giving your enewsletter a little extra push on Facebook can’t hurt, and may improve your open rates.
