A Terrific Example of an Information-Rich Website

If you’re on the mailing list for our snail mail newsletter, Let’s Grow, you should have just received one discussing the competitive advantages that information-rich websites provide. A superb example from a different industry comes from ComputerGeeks.com, another one of Internet Retailer’s Hot 100 Retail Web Sites for 2011.

Their home page is all about shopping, but I’m sure plenty of people discover the shopping pages from the Tech Tips portion of their site. In addition to links to their blog and enewsletter signup, there’s a tremendously useful library of several hundred articles. Topics include everything from Squeezing more out of your home wireless network to Must-have tech gear to maximize productivity out of the office to 5 sites to make your web life easier.

Thanks to the volume of helpful content, search engines are likely to rank the site high, and visitors are likely to spend time on the site, form a positive impression, and bookmark it for future use. What more could a web merchant ask for?

By the way, if you’re not on our mailing list for Let’s Grow newsletter and would like to be, sign up here for a free subscription.
